Guide for Sustainable Agricultural Practices: Fruits & Vegetables

This guide is part of a series of twelve sector guides for agribusiness developed by the Asociación de Bancos del Ecuador (ASOBANCA), the eco.business Fund, and the Ecuadorian Center for Resource Efficiency (CEER). These guides focus on sectors that are significantly served by financial institutions in Ecuador, but they can also be applicable and useful throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. This guide provides practical guidance on assessing and incorporating environmental and social risks associated with agro-productive activities into decision-making processes. Financial institutions can use these guides to enhance their evaluation criteria for projects and economic activities, thereby creating a framework for generating business opportunities and sustainable financial products.
